I remember a time when I walked among the pines and as my feet touched the earth, I felt her heartbeat. I smelt the sage of the plains and I made tea from the willow to ease my bones as I grew old.
I knew the eagle totem whose shrill cry from high showed me how to see the big picture and the owl taught me to see wisdom even when there was darkness all around. I remember my four-legged friend the wolf who always knew where I was, who watched from a distance as I burnt sage to cleanse and purify my mind and ceder to replenish my spirit. My ears were keen to the sounds of the forest birds, the wind of the plains and running waters, I knew the plants and trees by name, touch, smell and feel. They were my family and we lived together upon the breast of my mother the earth.
Ah but that was lifetimes ago and now although I still feel the beauty, I also see that the honour has been lost from our heart and eyes. I dedicate my work to again walking with my brothers and sisters in beauty, seeing, feeling, smelling, touching and honouring nature as we are meant to.
Now I work with the pure essence of nature’s plant world- found in essential oils. I know my nostrils immediately transport me to the limbic system of my brain as I inhale the pure fragrances, where my cellular memory is stored from this and lifetimes of experience. When I pick up a bottle of essential oil with a blend of spruce, fir, cedarwood and ylang ylang and anoint my upper chakras, it awakens me to the time when the mountain and I were one. I inhale deeply the aroma of pure plant bliss as I place my feet gently on the damp grass coated with the dew of the morning, my body shivers in response, the birds are singing and the eagle circles above in the morning light. I am perfect in this moment.
I feel my body and its subtle delicate structure of energy/prana flowing in tiny rivers of harmony when I come into balance. I can vibrate at a level of peace, joy and love. I reflect sadly on the way I myself and many of my beloved brothers and sisters have and still treat this body temple like a rubbish tip filling it with toxic poisons, harsh words of judgement, anger, violence and self criticism going on to suffer with grossly deformed and misshapen bodies, minds and spirits far from the star children of light we were born to be.
Essential oils are the pure vibrational essence of the plant world. If they are either wild crafted, or farmed organically with love and care then distilled gently, they emerge as the purest form of vital plant medicine I know.
I lovingly with honour and care to anoint my body with these delicate yet powerful drops of pure plant bliss, I feel my vibration lift, restoring my balance. Shamans, yogis and indigenous people knew this and used the healing power of the plant world to restore our incredibly uniquely delicate human light bodies to a state of harmony.
Frankincense, sandalwood, rose and myrrh, rank highest in the vibrational scale of these essences of nature. I ponder on the awesomeness of the fact that we and everything in our earthly plane is made of star-dust. Yes I walk in beauty NOW.
