Interview with Mike Robinson

Mike Robinson is a man with a special mission and message for humanity.
Holistic Bliss talks with Mike before he embarks on his Australian tour..

HB: How would you describe the work that you do with people?

Mike
: I work with people on a few different levels. Some people come to see me if they are lost inside themselves, and usually they are looking for something but they may not be quite sure what that something is. Other people come specifically for healing, or they have a problem they can’t solve, but they want to get to the bottom of it. Other people turn up expecting to see the usual ‘psychic healer’, so they
receive something slightly different because what I do is help people to find themselves and get in touch with what’s inside of them.

HB: It must be tricky because people may expect you to be the all knowing guru.

Mike: Some people get confused because they want knowledge and information and there are so many new age teachers who will give them knowledge about cosmic things and angels, but it’s really a lot of words and labels. What they are seeking is rich in knowledge, but it’s not wisdom. The only knowledge people need is self-knowledge and this brings about change. Some people don’t like this idea because they keep being pointed back to themselves for the answers. They would prefer it to be about what’s out there in the sky or in the universe and they want to know about their auras and chakras. In reality, that’s fine, but they still have to find out about themselves and when you know yourself, you tend to know all about those other things anyway, as they come as part of the package. For most people, when they search for a way out of pain, they move into an opposite of how they would like it to be, but this is seeking with the mind and not with the heart.

HB: What is it that helps people to heal their lives?

Mike: Many things, first it’s realising that no one is doing the healing except you, so you have to take self responsibility and become aware of who you are. The external blame then stops and then you go on an inner journey to find yourself. On that inner journey you have to face your judgements, opinions and pain, and you can’t run from it. Most of humanity is running from an inner pain, and this inner pain entered into them at a very young age, and I have named it as ‘the first point of pain’, which came from the moment they were rejected: when they
first experienced non-love. Because of this experience of non-love, they start to act in a different way in their lives, as they are trying to avoid the pain from reoccurring. From understanding this, we can encourage people to go back and recognise the first point of pain and to live their life, not from the point of pain but who they were before the experience, in other words the pure untouched self.

HB: So if you were to paint a picture of how people’s lives would look if they were free what would it look like on a day to day level?

Mike:
You’re watching yourself all the time and you’re aware of what you’re saying and why you are saying or doing something. From this watching you gain awareness about yourself and an awareness of others; it all happens at the same time. When you live in awareness
you pay attention to what you do, you’re not just following a pattern blindly which has been set up in you since childhood. So you’re observing yourself all the time and it’s a continuous process which stays with you for life. Some people want to get to an end point and that’s why they struggle to become something other than who they are. When you accept something without trying to change it, it changes anyway. The change will come about when you become aware and start observing. You observe yourself, and everything comes from that observation without judgement and you start to see through the illusion.

HB: What small steps can people make to start this process?

Mike: The mind always wants a ‘how to’ or a technique and a ‘way’. What we can do is recognise this, and also recognise how you can’t change the past. If you can’t change it, you’ve got to ask yourself, “Can I accept it?” When you listen to yourself, you know what to do in the world. It’s all there inside you. If you’re going to live fully in this world, then express yourself fully into it rather than running away from life.

The solution to the suffering of humanity lies within each one of us, and getting in touch with the inner is the solution. For many people it takes time, but in reality you can free yourself immediately, so long as you’re willing to listen, and who you’re listening to is yourself.
