Brisbane Livewell Clinic opened its doors in 1979 and has built a solid reputation by employing only highly experienced and educated practitioners. The clinic is essentially a one stop shop for clients’ health needs. A broad range of therapies is on offer and we will cross- refer if a client’s health issues are complex. Modalities include a holistic doctor (she diagnoses medically but treats with homeopathic remedies), naturopathy, traditional Chinese medicine, massage (including pregnancy), acupuncture, homeopathy, psychology, counselling and kinesiology.
Our philosophy is simple. Nature provided her healing powers long before there were pharmaceutical drugs and the fact is, she still does. Many of us have just forgotten that.
In today’s fast paced world, we seem to demand a quick answer to everything. No one wants to wait. How many of us just stop to (literally) smell the roses? This ‘need for speed’ can impact insidiously on us and before we know it we feel unwell, stressed , depressed or anxious. We suffer from unspecified aches and pains and we’re exhausted.
Does this sound familiar to you? When symptoms are vague, we might put off seeing a doctor because it doesn’t seem bad enough to take a prescription drug – or, we don’t have time! Sometimes we will be asked to complete a whole battery of tests only to find everything is “normal”. But unfortunately we still don’t feel right and we still have no answers.
Natural therapies help people feel better both physically and emotionally. And contrary to popular belief, remedies are not administered by a ‘hippy’ grinding down plants into a foul tasting liquid. ‘Aunt Mary’s secret family potion’ is no longer the realm of the natural practitioner.
Contemporary natural therapists are credentialed professionals who have spent years studying in recognised colleges and universities. They belong to professional associations, which means a client can claim a rebate through their Private Health Fund. Their knowledge is vast and many never stop researching in their chosen field. Products used as remedies have been stringently researched, tested and manufactured, however they remain essentially natural/organic.
Natural fertility, allergy elimination and detoxification (includingliver) programs continue to underpin the foundation of our work, however the range of conditions we successfully treat are just too numerous to mention. Women and children’s ailments eg menopause, eczema, ADHD, skin conditions, PMS, bloating, painful periods, IBS, pregnancy and weight management, are all treated at the clinic.
Consultations are usually at least an hour in length and practitioners listen to what you say. We conduct various tests including live blood screenings to help develop an appropriate course of treatment, and initially, free telephone follow-ups between appointments are not uncommon. In short, you matter to us!
