This month Holistic Bliss talks with Karuna who has recently opened a new business in Beerwah called Blue Starlight. She shares her insights and her passions in life...
Question:What inspired you to call your new business Blue Starlight?
Karuna: I had been meditating for many years and then one day I had a profound inner experience, where a light image of a Blue Star emerged. This really heightened my psychic senses and consciousness. Then about ten weeks ago, I set up my shop called Blue Starlight in Beerwah and we have received a lot of support from the community in such a short time. I’ve worked as an holistic healer since the late 80s and I have practiced and taught many energy healing modalities including Urban Agnihotra for about 15 years.
Question: Can you explain a bit more about what Agnihorta is?
Karuna: Agnihorta is a sacred fire practice performed at sunrise and sunset. It has its origins in Vedic traditions. The practice helps to purify the atmosphere, re-energises your home (fabulous for clearing negative energies!). This humble fire is so potent that its purifying energies reach a staggering 4km radius. I have seen the positive effects on nature first hand of what regular Agnihotra can achieve. Some people, who have experienced Agnihotra, may have had the experience on farms or properties but it’s also great for the urban dweller too. The ash from Agnihotra is used for agricultural purposes. The Ash can be used internally or topically for healing. You can grow your herbs & have a mini veggie garden on your veranda or court yard, all you need is some pots, good organic soil and mix in your ash (make sure you sprinkle your seedling roots with ash before planting) I found lattice in pots great if you grow beans/peas!
Gather a group of people in your area who are willing to take turns in veggie patch maintenance, approach your council/
owners of flats or units and start a communal Agnihotra veggie patch in a park or in the grounds where you live. Grow food with Prana (life force) no chemicals and you will have organic food.
Question: What other services do you offer?
Karuna: I have exotic clothes & shawls, jewellery, developmental books, Tarot sets and we offer Reiki workshops, mystical parties, holistic clairvoyant readings and online Tarot readings. I am in contact with an Australian woman in India who is teaching Agnihotra and helping local Indian women who have been disadvantaged, by teaching them various skills. The foundation is called ‘Rose Circles’ and I buy products for my shop from this foundation to support these women.
The ‘Rose Circle’ women are practicing Agnihotra and eco-friendly processes and they use non-sprayed textiles. The website is www.rosecircles.com.
Blue Starlight is an holistic service & a new consciousness business.
