Many diet fads come and go and I see so many people jump on the bandwagon of another new diet.
The raw food diet certainly has been here since the year dot and when it comes to optimum health I have not seen anything as effective. It also is a quick way of losing weight, regaining health, restoring vibrant energy, sharpening awareness, memory, and is known for longevity.
Raw food diets comprise of: natural organic uncooked fruit and vegetables used in juices, smoothies and salads, and then usually a selection of nuts, seeds, sprouted grains, legumes plus lots of pure water and
herbal teas.
You can find many interesting and creative raw food recipes online.
One teaspoon of a super food like maca root, spirulina, brewers yeast, barley malt, whey powder, or granulated kelp can be used in smoothies for optimum vitamins and minerals. I suggest morning, because when you have this at night, you become over energised and may find it hard to sleep.
Processed foods, dairy and wheat products have a numbing effect on the body and are the main cause of many allergies and ailments due to the chemicals, hormones, emulsifiers and additives in them.
If you have been living on processed and junk food for some time and then start a raw live food diet you may experience effects such as: nausea, skin outbreaks, and aches, pains in the joints. This is because toxins are being eliminated and so this will rectify once the toxins have been excreted.
I suggest before starting a raw food diet, have a cleanse (talk to your health practitioner about an Epsom salt cleanse) or plan to have a one day detox or book a professional colonic irrigation session. This will give you a kick start.
Then look at three days on vegetable juices consisting of: carrot, celery, beetroot, any greens and green apples combined, drink as often as you wish for the next three days. This will break the carbohydrate addiction and cleanse your system of toxins.
If you are obese or unwell before starting a raw food diet, I suggest that you arrange for a naturopathic consultation/assessment and take appropriate herbs for healing and weight loss.
If super energy, enhanced awareness, vital health is what you want then a Raw Diet is for YOU!
