MARCH 2011 - Editorial

Eating a raw or even a wholefood diet will mean different things to different people. For the skeptics and fast foodies, it equates to a diet of bland rabbit food. For the more adventurous, it’s a continual discovery of flavour sensations and a gradual process of adding more energising, REAL food to their diet.

Then there are the people who live and breathe ‘raw food’ as a lifestyle which involves consuming 70% to 100% raw and living foods. There is quite a bit of debate about the benefits of these diets and so, like anything, it involves seeing what works for you and talking to your health practitioner/s…..what works for one person may not work for another and our needs change over time. If you are interested in learning more, there are a number of raw food experts/enthusiasts who report life changing effects from grazing on a high percentage of raw and living food including: Dr Gabriel Cousens, David Wolfe, Don Tolman and here in Australia, Leisa Wheeler, the writer’s in HB this month and Dr Sandeep Gupta to name just a few.

Local foodie and media personality, Skye Craig (our cover girl this month) also knows a thing or two about food and how to find the balance in life with creating her raw food delights and new range of decadent treats (Check out her recipe on page 5!!).

The first thirteen pages of articles in our March mag are devoted to different perspectives on raw and wholefoods ….which is food for thought really.
